Job Description

Our Client is in a very exciting period of growth focussing on investment and development of their existing strong brands. They are looking to expand their team in many areas. We are currently seeking a Night Shift Manager for our client based in their facility in Somerset. Our Client have made investment with new and upgraded lines installed within the last few years and have plans to grow the value added categories in the next 5 years.

Main Responsibilities
• Ensuring good Hygiene and Safety practices of the packing operation (equipment & environment), through the development of the cleaning processes and equipment used, and training provided for all hygiene staff to ensure the site meets/exceeds all retailer standards.
• Directly manage both a dedicated hygiene crew and multi-skilled production teams who have both production and hygiene skills.
• Responsible for all production activity during their shift, driving quality, productivity, plan attainment, yield and OEE whilst maintaining the highest standards of safety, environmental and safety.
• Senior point of contact with responsibility for all activity on site during their shift (Hygiene, Production, Engineering, Warehouse & QA).
• Maintain training needs analysis to ensure skills across all staff responsible for cleaning equipment & environment meet retailer standards.
• Create and maintain an effective team culture, which has personal accountability for, Safety, Food Safety, Quality, GMP and performance and continuous improvement requirements.

To be considered for this Night Shift Manager role, you must have the following experience and attributes:
• Experience of managing hygiene operations within a food factory, ideally a similar FMCG packing operation
• Level 3 HACCP Food Safety Qualification
• IOSH Health and Safety Qualification
• Experience managing a team of at least 30 people in an FMCG environment
• Effective communicator at all levels, analytical, solutions oriented and ability to work under pressure.
Other experiences and attributes advantageous but not essential:
• Internal auditor training, basic microbiological knowledge is essential
• Knowledge and experience of developing and implementing Food Hygiene Systems

Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week / Shift Pattern is 5 on 3 off / 2200 hours to 0700 hours

Salary is £35-40k (depending on experience)
