Job Description

We are currently seeking a Secretary for a client based in Launceston.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a busy, secretarial team in a thriving accountancy practice in Launceston, Cornwall.

The secretarial position will be working in a team of three, supporting one partner in particular but working as part of the team so the role will also involve work for other partners and staff members. The client desires somebody with good initiative, good secretarial skills and a working knowledge of excel.

Responsibilities:

• Providing secretarial assistance to the Partners and members of staff as required alongside the secretarial team
• Use of Word, Excel and other industry based software, including audio dictation software
• Use of the photocopier and all equipment in the Secretaries’ room
• Covering for the other secretaries due to holiday or sickness
• To embrace Information Technology and to be willing to accept training in new hardware and software
• To maintain high standards of customer service at all times
• Meeting and liaising with clients as required

To be considered for this Secretary position, you will ideally need the following experience and attributes:

• Quick and accurate typing (minimum 55 wpm)
• Ability to work as part of a team as well as on own initiative
• Good working knowledge of Word, Excel and Microsoft Office
• Strong communication skills
• Able to work to tight deadlines
• Experience of working in a similar professional environment (desirable but not essential)
• Minimum GCSE/O-level Mathematics and English
