Job Description

We are currently seeking a time served, hard working MIG Welder and Fabricator who is skilled in Fabricating and Welding, preferably within the thin gauge sheet metal engineering sector. The successful candidate will be working as part of a team but must also be capable of working independently using engineering drawings. No site work involved.

Requirements –

Extensive MIG welding experience

Good knowledge of working with steel in varying levels of thickness (0.8mm – 6mm)

Experience of fast paced high quality production welding

Ability to read, understand and work to engineering drawings

TIG welding experience desirable but not essential

Good understanding of other processes including grinding, sanding, spot welding and stud welding

Experience of using hand held and air powered tools

Qualifications Required –

City and Guilds Certificate in Fabrication and Welding Level 2

City and Guilds Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Fabrication and Welding Engineering

Hours of work will either be 7.30am  – 4.30pm  or 4.30pm to 2.00am depending on shift

28 days holiday entitlement (including Bank Holidays)

Company pension scheme

Rate of pay DOE, plus £20 per day shift allowance if working on the late shift
